Starry Brings Back a Beloved Sierra Mist Cranberry Flavor for the Holidays
Description
sierra mist: Starry Revives Fan-Favorite Cranberry Flavor with Limited Edition Holiday Release
Soda fans were in for a shock when PepsiCo replaced Sierra Mist with its new lemon-lime soda, Starry, in 2023. This new release didn’t just fill the gap in PepsiCo’s lineup to compete with Sprite; it marked the quiet end of Sierra Mist after a two-decade run on store shelves.
With Sierra Mist’s discontinuation, fans also said goodbye to cherished flavors like Cranberry Splash, Undercover Orange, and Ruby Splash. But now, just in time for the holidays, Starry is set to release its first limited-edition flavor—bringing back an old Sierra Mist classic.
Starry Unveils Starry Cranberry Blizz for the Holidays
The first flavor addition in Starry’s lineup is Starry Cranberry Blizz. This seasonal soda has a familiar tangy cranberry flavor that once defined Sierra Mist’s Cranberry Splash, but with Starry’s twist: a recipe boasting more citrus and a “cleaner, crisp finish,” as PepsiCo describes it. Unlike Sierra Mist’s Cranberry Splash, which came in regular and zero-sugar, Starry Cranberry Blizz will be available only as a zero-sugar option.
Starting November 4, you can find Starry Cranberry Blizz in 12-pack cans and 2-liter bottles nationwide, but only for a limited time.
Fans’ Longing for Cranberry Splash Returns
Sprite recently brought back its Winter Spiced Cranberry flavor, but many fans on Reddit voiced their preference for the old Sierra Mist Cranberry Splash. PepsiCo has responded with the launch of Starry Cranberry Blizz, which may help fill the gap left by the discontinued favorite. One Reddit user lamented, "The greatest seasonal soda pop of ALL TIME, shamefully discontinued. BRING IT BACK," to which Starry hinted, "Maybe we will."
For those eager to try a cranberry-flavored Starry before the official release, KFC has recently introduced cranberry-flavored PepsiCo beverages. For a limited time, diners can add cranberry-flavored syrup to any KFC drink, including Starry, Pepsi, Sweet Lightning Mountain Dew, and lemonade.
