long drink
After a recent family vacation to Finland, we fell in love with the famous Finnish drink, lonkero, or long drink. This refreshing cocktail is made by mixing gin with citrus, typically grapefruit, and is hard to find outside Finland. To recreate it, I referred to other tourists' attempts and the original recipe from the company’s website.
- 4 ice cubes
- 2 tablespoons gin (adjust to taste)
- ⅔ cup grapefruit juice (adjust to taste)
- 1 tablespoons lemon juice
- 1 tablespoons lime juice
- 1 cup club soda

Note
Cook’s Note:
Feel free to adjust the gin to your liking. In the U.S., a shot of alcohol typically ranges between 2 tablespoons and 1/4 cup. I recommend using slightly more club soda than grapefruit juice for the best balance.
