2cups granulated sugar
4 large eggs
1tbsp vanilla or cotton candy flavoring
1cup whole milk

For the Frosting:

4cups powdered sugar
3tbsp milk or heavy cream
1tsp vanilla or cotton candy flavoring
Pink and blue food coloring

Instructions
For the Cake:
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and line three 8-inch round cake pans.
In a medium-sized bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, and salt by sifting them together.
In a large mixing bowl, beat the butter and sugar until creamy and fluffy.
Add the eggs individually, ensuring each one is thoroughly mixed before adding the next. Stir in the flavoring.
Gradually mix the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients, alternating with milk, starting and ending with the dry ingredients.
Divide the batter evenly between two bowls. Tint one bowl with pink food coloring and the other with blue. Stir gently to combine.
Pour the batters into the prepared pans, alternating colors if desired.
Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. Cool completely before frosting.
For the Frosting:
Beat the butter in a large bowl until smooth.
Gradually add powdered sugar, beating on low speed until combined.
Add milk or cream and flavoring, then beat on high speed until light and fluffy.
Divide the frosting into two portions and tint with pink and blue food coloring.
To Assemble:
Level the cake layers if needed. Layer the cakes with a generous spread of frosting between each.
Cover the entire cake with frosting, blending colors for an ombre effect if desired.
Decorate with sprinkles or cotton candy just before serving.
